Abstract
This article examines the significance of business digitalization in enhancing corporate efficiency, competitiveness, and growth. Its objective is to explore business owners' perceptions of digitalization and assess the digital skills of Engineering in Business Management (EBM) students in the context of their companies during the period from August to December 2023. The methodology is quantitative, employing a questionnaire based on the DigComp 2.0 framework, and surveyed 20 employers of EBM interns or recent graduates from the Technological Institute of Nuevo León to gain a deeper understanding of current labor market demands regarding digital competencies. The results highlight that a solid understanding and mastery of digital tools are deemed essential to driving operational efficiency and fostering greater competitiveness and growth in the business sector. The study reveals a direct correlation between students' preparation in digital skills and companies' ability to leverage technological advantages in current and future markets. The conclusion suggests that the Engineering in Business Management curriculum should be closely aligned with the digital expectations of the business sector to ensure that future professionals are equipped to contribute effectively in an increasingly technology-dependent labormarket. The conclusions offer key recommendations for improving educational programs, aligning academic training with the needs of business digitalization.
